Our experienced optometrists specialise in diagnosing and treating a wide range of visual issues, including common eye conditions, binocular vision disorders, visual perceptual difficulties, and eye coordination problems.
We allocate plenty of time to provide a comprehensive eye examination, beginning with a conversation to ascertain information on your general and ocular health, visual needs and lifestyle. Our thorough eye examination includes a thorough investigation of eye health with the latest technology, binocular vision, eye movements, focusing ability, visual fields and vetibulo-ocular assessments.
At the conclusion of the eye examination, we discuss the need for spectacles, contact lenses, further investigations and/or visual therapy where indicated. We take great care in selecting spectacle and contact lenses to enhance your visual needs.
Please note that we are not a bulk billing practice as we do more specialised testing. We have an out of pocket fee of $60. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask our staff.
We use state of the art technology and personalised treatment plans to help patients of all ages achieve optimal visual performance, VisualEyes Hobart is the only practice in Tasmania to have the DNEye Scanner 2. This equipment combined with the Rodenstock ImpressionIST 4 allows us to create a personal eyemodel containing seven thousand different measurements to dispense bespoke lenses. We make spectacles which are perfected for each individual.

Visual Therapy can improve visual performance through a program of exercises which addresses binocular dysfunction problems, eye coordination issues and vestibulo-ocular abnormalities. It is indicated for common visual problems such as convergence insufficiency but can also be beneficial for people with visual related learning difficulties, strabismus (turned eye), amblyopia (lazy eye) and traumatic or acquired brain injuries.
Visual Therapy can benefit patients who suffer from binocular dysfunctions including strabismus, amblyopia and convergence insufficiency; learning related visual problems, or in cases of traumatic and acquired brain injuries.
Visual Therapy is particularly effective in providing children with the skills required to maintain their focusing ability and clarity of vision when studying.
Visual Therapy involves 45 minute in office weekly appointments with a commitment of 15 minute daily home exercises. The duration of Visual Therapy programs can vary from five to ten weekly sessions or more as each program is tailored to the unique circumstances of each individual.
